Okmulgee County (OKCO) Humane Society is powered entirely by the kindness and generosity of people like you. During this season of giving, your support becomes more than a donation—it becomes comfort, safety, and hope for animals who need it most. Your gift goes straight to work: providing lifesaving veterinary care, nutritious meals, warm places to rest, and a soft, loving landing for once-homeless dogs and cats in our foster program.
Your generosity also helps us hit the road—literally. Donations keep our transport van fueled, maintained, and ready for the journeys that matter most: bringing animals to partner rescues with more space and higher adoption demand. Every mile traveled is a second chance earned, and every second chance begins with someone who chose to give.
Your generosity will also fuel two of our most meaningful community programs:
The Sammy Fund Named in honor of Sammy, a gentle pit-lab puppy reportedly dropped from a second-story window in downtown Okmulgee, this fund covers emergency and critical medical care for animals who arrive to us in their toughest moments—those hit, hurt, abandoned, or broken by trauma. Your support ensures their stories don’t end in suffering, but in healing.
Neuterhood Watch (TNRM) Our Trap-Neuter-Return-Monitor program gives community cats a humane, life-saving solution—reducing overpopulation while improving the lives of outdoor cats who call Okmulgee home.
With our new OKCO Pet Adoption Center set to open in 2026--thanks to the Sam Viersen Family Foundation and a loving Okmulgee family--your continued support comes at a pivotal moment. We are profoundly grateful for this incredible step forward for our community.
Together, we can create a lasting impact.
This holiday season, we hope you’ll consider OKCO in your giving plans. Your kindness fuels every life we save—and we’re so grateful.
