Fuel the Future of Rescue.

Every dollar you give helps us do what we do best: save animals. OKCO Humane Society receives no funding from the city or state--we are entirely powered by donations from individuals like you. Your support goes directly toward providing vet care, food, supplies, and a soft place to land for once-homeless dogs and cats in our foster care program.

It also helps us hit the road—literally. Donations keep our transport vans gassed up and road-ready to take at-risk animals from the Okmulgee Animal Shelter to partner rescues where they’ve got a second shot.

Plus, your support makes it possible for us to offer low-cost spay/neuter services and run Neuterhood Watch—our Trap-Neuter-Return-Monitor (TNRM) program—both crucial to preventing unnecessary euthanasia and reducing pet overpopulation in our community.

When you give to OKCO Humane Society, you’re not just helping animals—you’re building a rescue-forward future for Oklahoma.

Neuterhood Watch: Taming the Feral Cat Population

In Okmulgee, like much of Oklahoma, stray and feral cats are multiplying fast—putting pressure on our community and contributing to high shelter intake and euthanasia rates. Nationally, tens of millions of feral cats roam free, and roughly 75% of cats entering shelters are euthanized.

Our Neuterhood Watch (Trap‑Neuter‑Return‑Monitor) program is the humane, practical solution:

    •    We trap unowned outdoor cats
    •    We sterilize & vaccinate them (and ear‑tip them for identification)
    •    We return and monitor them to ensure their health and keep colonies stable

TNRM directly stops new litters, reduces neighborhood conflicts, and lowers shelter numbers over time. The ASPCA and other experts support TNRM as the most effective, non-lethal method to manage feral cat populations.

Your donations help cover the cost of surgery, vaccines, and transport—and make it possible for us to reduce suffering and save lives, one cat at a time.
