Adopt a Pet. Change a Life. (Theirs and Yours.)
Thinking about adding a little extra joy (and tail wagging) to your life? Our once-homeless dogs and cats are more than ready to meet you. And they’ve got a whole lot of love to give.
When you adopt through OKCO Humane Society, you’re not just finding your next best friend—you’re also making room for another pet in need. Every adoption helps us rescue more animals from the Okmulgee Animal Shelter and get them into loving foster homes instead of facing euthanasia. No pressure… but someone here has been practicing their puppy eyes just for you. |
A Soft Place to Land Starts with You. |
Currently, OKCO Humane Society is 100% foster-based—which means every dog and cat we save depends on someone like you opening their home (and heart) for a little while.
When animals run out of time at the Okmulgee Animal Shelter, we can only step in if we have a foster home ready to catch them. No foster? No rescue. It’s that simple—and that powerful. Fostering is completely free. We provide the food, supplies, and vet care—you provide the safe place, the love, and maybe a cozy couch or two. Whether it’s for a few days or a few weeks, fostering truly saves lives. Think you can be someone’s second chance? We’d love to have you on our team. |
Affordable Spay & Neuter Saves Lives. |
Want to help reduce the number of homeless animals in Oklahoma?
It starts with a simple snip. Spaying and neutering pets isn’t just responsible—it’s lifesaving. One unspayed cat and her kittens can lead to hundreds of thousands of homeless cats in just a few years. Dogs? Same story. Big numbers, big impact. OKCO Humane Society offers low-cost spay and neuter services for income-qualified pet owners—just $45 for dogs and $35 for cats, and that includes a rabies vaccine, too. We’re here to help our community care for their pets and be part of the solution. Funds are limited, so availability may vary. Reach out to us to learn more and check eligibility. |
